Jadotville Jacks

In Development

The true story of Ireland’s UN soldiers at Jadotville, how they survived a five day siege in 1961, and why the fight for recognition lasted a lifetime.

Synopsis

In September 1961, 150 Irish UN troops, some as young as 18, were surrounded and besieged for five days in the Congolese mining town of Jadotville. Outnumbered and outgunned, A Company fought with extraordinary discipline, inflicting heavy losses while sustaining no fatalities. Yet when the battle ended, they were ordered to surrender, and returned home to silence, stigma, and decades of official neglect.
